Namitha’s entry to the film industry was through Malayalam. It was director Siddhique who introduced her in Malayalam. It was Siddhique again who introduced her in Kollywood through the film Engal Anna. Vijayakanth produced this film and he himself was the hero of the film. While she was doing the movie Engal Anna she got an offer for the film Aei in which she paired with actor Sarath Kumar. Her next movie Englishkaran was with actor Sathyaraj. Once again she paired with actor Sarath Kumar in the film Chanakya. Her dance is the song “Arjuna Arjuna” stole the hearts of the youth. Namitha’s current releases are Aanai (Co star, Arjun) and Bambharakannaley (Co star, Srikanth). Namitha has also captured the attention of Telugu movie lovers. Her performance in the movies Sontam and Gemini fascinated the Telugu audience. Her other Telugu films include Nayakudu, Manthirikudu Maharaju and SP Nayak Info had it that the shooting spot for Vasan Visual Ventures' ``Aanai" was on East Coast Road leading to Mahabalipuram. But where on that busy stretch would it be possible to shoot, one wondered cruising along ECR.
It is a delight to talk to Arjun. He is always willing to part with information about his projects. Climbing into the air-conditioned caravan, he picks up the thread. "Each and every film of mine is important to me. I have done some very good work for `Aanai' which the viewers are bound to appreciate. The story is about a police officer who is expelled. He is determined to make a comeback. The tale is gripping in its narrative," the hero concludes.
Adding glamour to the show will be Kirti Chawla. ``Story demands two heroines," explains Arjun. ``Director Selva, who is also in charge of story and screenplay, knows the ropes and has conceived each scene after much thought," he elaborates.
Selva is happy that the film has come out very well. "This is a commercial film with a new editing technique tried by Satish and Harsha. Shiva's camera has captured some beautiful visuals both here and also in Hyderabad. We have shot three songs with Arjun and Namitha in London and that will certainly add gloss to the product. The songs composed by D. Iman have come out very well and the film has Vadivelu, Mahadevan, `Junior' Silk and Delhi Ganesh. The film will be ready for month-end release."
It was interesting to observe Namitha rehearsing her part, especially the dialogue. The camera rolls and her Tamil amuses the unit hands but the director is satisfied. ``We have actually finished this scene in which Namitha expresses her love to Arjun. Finishing touches had to be given and that is being done here," Selva says.
Arjun meanwhile gets busy with his mobile - giving instructions to his assistants regarding ``Madarasi" he is directing. Namitha leaves as Arjun moves to another spot on the beach for a lone shot.

Director Selvaa and Arjun are pairing up for the third time after Karna and Manikanda.
Aanai is a fast, action-paced thriller which gives a chance to Arjun to display his angry man image with fights, thrills, and action. It has been shot extensively in London, and the scenery and locations are truly breathtaking.
Vijay (Arjun) is a sincere police officer who always keeps his promises, no matter what the cost. He is forced into compulsory retirement since he is too idealistic. Jayaram (Manoj K. Jayan) is a famous and rich singer; his wife is Meena (Sandhavi); they have a daughter Priya (Baby Taj) who is the apple of their eyes. They employ Vijay as a full time bodyguard to protect her from possible kidnapping. There is a gang of professional kidnappers who are out to kidnap rich children for huge ransoms; if the ransom is not paid in time, the children are brutally murdered.
Unfortunately, the child gets kidnapped, and Vijay is critically injured trying to protect her. He is hospitalized, and the kidnappers, who are in collusion with the local police, try to kill him in hospital, but he is saved by a nurse (Keerthi Chawla). The action continues, the suspense builds up, and an injured Vijay takes it as a personal challenge to rescue the little girl.
It is an action entertainer. Arjun plays his usual action-hero image; Namitha, as the personal secretary to Jayaram, plays her role to perfection. She shines as Vijay’s love-interest, in the songs, and as the efficient secretary; Imman has supported the movie with peppy songs; rerecording is arresting, and the background music helps maintain the suspense and tempo; Manoj K Jayan, from Malayalam movies is the successful singer and worried father.
A good action movie, more so for Arjun fans.
