Romance and friendship are two things that flow like water on rocks in the film industry without a meaning and direction. and the famous saying of the wise men 'No Two girls can be friends' seems to hold good too if you read the following article.
A catfight has erupted in Kollywood between two leading ladies – the numero uno heroine Nayanthara and her biggest competitor Trisha.Trisha was ruling the tinsel town, till Nayanthara after her dare-bare bikini act in Billa walked away with the crown.
Recently, a real humdinger has developed between the top two actresses in the Tamil-language industry - Trisha and Nayanthara. Trisha is still number 1 as the recent Filmfare Awards South demonstrated but her throne was rocked recently by Nayanthara’s stunning bikini-clad appearance in Billa. Suddenly, Nayan was getting all the best offers to star opposite the biggest heroes.
The situation was made worse over the movie Kuruvi. Trisha felt she had nabbed the lead role opposite Vijay only to find in the press that Nayanthara was claiming the role was hers. Trisha couldn’t take this lying down and after a bit of string pulling, the role was hers. We can only imagine Nayanthara’s response to that. The movie in the end turned out to be fairly average.
The seed of evil was planted when the leading lady of the film 'Kuruvi' was being finalized and when it was almost confirmed that Trisha was the chosen one she was in for a shock when Nayan gave a statement that she has been signed up, in no time the petite beauty was on her feet and ensured that she got it back. Trisha was not too pleased with the fact that Nayan was getting cosy with a leading hero in the industry which looked like a threat to her chances on the top slot.
Meanwhile, Nayan gave a thunder shock as she came out like a bolt in the blue with her 'Bikini' act and that hit the nail on Trisha's head. In no time, Nayan was the queen that everyone desired and she called the shots. On the other hand, Nayan started getting whiffs that Trisha has been grouping all her enemies together to displace her from the numero uno position.
There was a time when both Trisha and Nayan had a common foe in the form of Asin who was ruling the roost in Kollywood and in no time the two became one and before they could strike upon the Malayalam beauty, she packed her bags and went to Bollywood to chase the more colorful Mumbai dream. With Asin gone, both Trisha and Nayan got going very well but then as is typical with girls natures this did not last for long.
Nayanthara on her relationship with Trisha: I don’t thing that all this was necessary, as it is a very trivial matter. I know I can’t be in everyone’s good books. For me Trisha is just like any other heroine, say a Shriya or Asin. The media and certain people in the industry thought that we were great friends; actually there is no truth in it. We used to bump into each other because we have common friends, I don’t like her nor do I hate her. I’m here to do my work, not to make friends. And if someone has a problem with me, I can’t help it.
Trisha on her relationship with Nayanthara: I have a few close friends with whom I bond. In the industry my close friends are Shriya and Reema. When we meet we just chill out and never discuss movies or work. We all started together and there is certainly an amount of closeness between us. I have never played dirty or manipulated film makers or played games. I haven’t stepped on anyone’s toes. As far as Nayanthara is concerned, she used to hang around with us but has never been my close friend. I have nothing against her, but she is not my type.
So that's the story of the battle of the cats and the tussle will be on till one of them either moves on to a different league or hangs up her shoes. Only time will tell.
